[Poland] Additional childcare allowance until 31 January 2021

The additional childcare allowance payable in connection with the COVID-19 outbreak has been again extended. This time, the payment of the benefit under the existing rules will continue until 31 January 2021.

On 17 January, the winter holidays in the country came to an end in all voivodeships, and on Monday, 18 January, children from grades I-III returned to regular school education. Since Monday, also a new regulation on extending until the end of January 2021 the right to an additional childcare allowance for, among others, parents of children under 8 years of age, who take personal care of a child in the event of a closure due to COVID-19 of the institution which the child attends or the opening of these institutions in a situation in which they cannot provide care due to their limited operation during the epidemic, has come into force.

The benefit is still paid under the existing rules.

We remind that in order to receive the additional childcare allowance, it is enough to submit to the payer of contributions a statement on taking care of a child, and in the case of persons conducting non-agricultural activity, to submit a statement to the Social Insurance Institution.
